Philamore Lincoln
Musician Robert Cromwell was a bit of an elusive character who performed under various pseudonyms but his stint as Philamore Lincoln is what’s always been the most enjoyable for me. His 1970 release, ‘The North Wind Blew South’ has been a constant favourite. A pop-psych epic, beautifully constructed and performed it’s always been a somewhat bitter sweet spin as it’s so perfect and yet Lincoln’s one and only album.
For those wanting more the only real option is to track down his rare single, ‘Running By the River’ which is something I’ve been attempting to do for some time but I recently hit the jackpot scoring not only the single but the accompanying press release.
For more on Philamore I suggest you take a few minutes to watch the excellent video Dereck Higgins posted a few years back.
