I like to think that Mrs Banks had been a Mermaid who tragically lost her Merbaby but Mary Poppins rescued her from her despair by erasing her memory, giving her legs and making her a suffragette with a kind of crappy husband.

Poppins wasn’t that great at cheering people up really.
