Today I launched a new site - nilssonvinyl.com It's something I've been working on for some time and during that time its purpose has morphed somewhat. Originally, I saw it as a private substitute resource for the now defunct fortheloveofharrynilsson.com which was a hugely helpful destination for those of us that collect or are interested in Harry Nilsson. While that site was the definitive in all things Harry, my immediate needs were more specific. I collect Nilsson on vinyl and while I'm not usually the sort of record collector that has to have every album cover variation of a particular release or the newly mastered everything from an artist, with Harry I make an exception. The challenge however is in knowing what exactly is 'out there'.

Nilssonvinyl.com was to be my personal reference guide. My aim was to catalogue what I already had in my collection but more importantly what else existed that had not yet tracked down. As I'd surf in my quest I'd take note of a release I'd not been aware of previously, gobble up as much info about it as I could and then add it to the list. I quickly discovered there was far more out there than I had originally thought but my personal collection was also expanding rapidly meaning I had direct access to much of what I discovering and so higher resolution scans and more detailed information was available to me. I realised all of this might be of interest to other fans of Harry and so the focus of the site shifted into a format that might be more readily helpful to fellow collectors.

The site will continue to grow with regular updates as I never stop looking for undiscovered gems. To those well versed in Harry Nilsson's vinyl releases you may spot immediately glaring omissions. Rest easy. I'm well aware of a number of items that exist but are not yet featured. This will either be because I don't yet have a personal copy I can take information/scans from or possibly I'm not aware it exists. In either case there's a handy submission page on the site where you can educate me to your heart's content (I'd genuinely appreciate it.)
